- Always use “older than 30–180 days”.
- Protect invoices/password resets via exclusions.
- Start with one page selection before deleting more.
Hard delete
Deletion is permanent. IMAP expunges deleted messages; POP3 deletes on QUIT.

Certificates
IMAP/POP3 uses strict TLS certificate validation. If the hostname does not match the certificate, the connection is blocked.
